Standards

The Ombuds Office practices to the standards for Ombuds work as outlined by the International Ombuds Association.  The Standards of confidentiality, neutrality, informality and independence form the basis of our work.  Please see the International Ombuds Association website to learn more about our standards. It is the policy of the University of Michigan that no person, on the basis of race, sex, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, age marital status, handicap, sexual orientation, or Vietnam–era veteran status, shall be discriminated against in employment, educational programs and activities, or admissions.
